With Google just announcing that its freshness algo, Google Caffeine, will now effect 35% of search results, SEO writers will have to adjust their approach to writing articles aimed to rank for specific keywords.
Google Caffeine was released last year as an algo to allow Google to comb the web for what is fresh, hot, recent, and pertinent. Since then, Google said it already gained momentum as Caffeine enables indexing quickly and at massive extent.
This considerably impacts SEO. Now, SEO copywriters have to pass the T-R-U test in their post creation and curation.
Timely. Content that is timely will have a better chance to rank. To assist writers, they can try Google Trends for items that are hot and trending and anchor their article on these trends. This of course calls for imagination especially if the trending topics are not directly linked to the products or services which they are trying to market through the posts.
Recurring. Google returns search ranking results which pertain to recurring and relevant events, mostly of international prominence. For example, writers can peg posts on the NFL, the presidential elections, or other events. When a searcher enters a keyword that is linked to a pertinent and recurring event, Google will send back results that are linked to this event. The benefit of this to writers is that they can now advantageously plan for posts to write throughout the year.
Updated. Write down about the most recent, the newest model, the just-launched versions and you are sure to get noticed. Google’s freshness algo furthermore prefers content that keeps updating. This is of course for the reason that Google anticipates that their web users would like the updates, not data from a week ago which the searchers most likely already know. For regularly updating items, Google in fact ranks those that get updated by the minute. There is not any place for stale information.
With Google Caffeine at the present giving preference to freshness, SEO writers will have superior results for their posts if these posts qualify the TRU test.
